2nd Queensland Youth Orchestra (part of Queensland Youth Orchestras) is a full size symphony orchestra (*3,2,2,2-5,2,3,1-tmp-hp (opt)-str (18,18,16,12,10) ranging in age from 12 to 23. The main stage for QYO2 is the Old Museum Concert Hall. In 2015 season QYO2 will play four Concerts at Twilight and QYO Finale Concert at QPAC.

Tishenko’s Letter from Leningrad

I was asked to translate this letter (B. Tishenko’s Letter from Leningrad) by a music student of the University of Queensland some time ago. I am not a professional translator so I was wondering if you may have any suggestions for improvement. The Russian text of the letter was located in the first couple of pages of the Shostakovich’s Viola Sonata sheet music. You are very welcome to have a listen to the 1975 recording of the Sonata by Fyodor Druzhinin viola and Mikhail Muntyan piano accompaniment.
